Grazie per il 2024!
Cari amici e sostenitori,
Che anno intenso è stato per Libri per i Cani. Grazie al duro lavoro dei nostri volontari e alla generosità delle vostre donazioni, abbiamo avuto un 2024 da urlo, un anno record di raccolta fondi, con un aumento del 37% rispetto al 2023!
La nostra ultima sessione di acquisto si è tenuta il 28 dicembre 2024 e in totale abbiamo generato €33.638 in vendite. Cinque eventi e donazioni hanno raccolto €4.290 con tante risate e socializzazione per la nostra comunità. Oltre a tre serate quiz, ci siamo diversificati con un’asta combinata a degustazione di vini presso il nostro partner Enoteca Grace, nonché una serata Bingo! Le richieste per altri eventi continuano ad affluire!
Il Comitato desidera ringraziare le attività commerciali locali di Umbertide, che hanno supportato Libri per i Cani nel corso degli anni: Enoteca Grace per il tempo e la pazienza nell’ospitare i nostri eventi; Ristorante Casagrande, Kosan Sushi, Vineria del Carmine e Armonie Parrucchierie per le loro generose donazioni di buoni; e la Galleria Littlewood per alcune splendide stampe delle meravigliose opere d’arte di John.
E’ importante notare che il rapport ricavi/costi è stato del 21% nel 2024, ovvero costi fissi come affitto e utenze.
Ancora più importante, il Comitato e alcuni volontari a novembre hanno fatto visita ai rifugi per animali a cui doniamo regolarmente e siamo rimasti soddisfatti di ciò che abbiamo visto. Le nostre donazioni mensili vengono utilizzate in modo molto efficace a beneficio di animali feriti o abbandonati: cani, gatti, cervi, vari uccelli, gufi, capre, cavalli, mucche, cinghiali e altro ancora. Il Comitato ha stanziato fondi aggiuntivi per progetti speciali, che stiamo identificando in collaborazione con i rifugi.
Siamo super entusiasti di ciò che è stato realizzato quest’anno e ciò è stato possibile solo grazie al vostro gentile supporto per il quale vi siamo profondamente grati.
Nel prossimo futuro, Libri per i Cani continuerà a tenervi aggiornati e presto lancerà un nuovo sito web per descrivere al meglio le nostre attività.
Non vediamo l’ora di vedervi nel 2025, sia nel negozio che
per serate piene di divertimento!

Dear Friends and Supporters,
What a busy year it’s been for Books for Dogs. Thanks to the hard work of our volunteers and generosity of donations, we have had a bumper 2024, a record fundraising year up 37% on 2023!
Our last shop session was held on 28 December 2024 and in total we have generated €33,638 in sales. Five events and donations raised €4,290 with much socialising and laughter for our community. In addition to three quiz nights, we branched out to premier a silent auction combined with wine tasting with our partner Enoteca Grace, as well as a Bingo! night. Requests for more of events continue to flood in!
The Committee would like to thank local businesses in Umbertide, which have supported Books for Dogs throughout the years: Enoteca Grace for their time and patience to host our events; and Ristorante Casagrande, Kosan Sushi, Vineria del Carmine and Armonie Parrucchierie for their generous donations of vouchers; and Gallery Littlewood for some beautiful prints of John’s stunning artwork.
Importantly, our revenue/cost ratio was 21% in 2024 – these are fixed costs such as rent and utilities.
Even more importantly, the Committee and some volunteers made visits in November to the animal sanctuaries to which we regularly donate, and we were pleased with what we saw. Our monthly donations are being very effectively used for the benefit of injured or abandoned animals – dogs, cats, deer, various birds, owls, goats, horses, cows, boar, and more. The Committee has earmarked additional funds for special project work, which we are in the process of identifying in collaboration with the shelters.
We are super excited by what has been achieved this year and it has only been possible by your kind support for which we are deeply grateful.
In the near future, Books for Dogs will continue to keep you updated and will soon launch a revamped website to highlight our activities.
